What is it?

This long dot-matrix print depicts a screenshotted conversation between the “AI” large language model product, ChatGPT 4, and “ELIZA,” a 1960’s “psychotherapist algorithm.”

This conversation was facilitated by the artist by copying and pasting the text responses from one system into the other.

“ELIZA” is famous for its circular conversations which rephrase the user’s declarations as questions; “ChatGPT 4” is famous for its long-winded and confident assertions. They had a good chat.

It was printed on a vintage Apple ImageWriter II and vintage “Word Processing & Computer” paper.
