What is it?

This projector attempts to replicate the experience of spotting a neutrino’s decay on film with a hydrogen bubble chamber. It shows my redrawing of an image once captured at Argonne National Laboratory—the first time a neutrino was captured in a hydrogen bubble chamber, and one of an astonishing quantity (in the hundreds of thousands) made over the course of this neutrino detection experiment.

I used a period-appropriate projector and converted its original halogen bulb (lifetime 20 hours) to a (dim, low-heat) LED light engine.
