What is it?
Time-based: The tiny screen on this artwork slowly reveals a message through its magnifying lens:
“WHAT IS IT LIKE TO SEEK SOMETHING UNFATHOMABLY SMALL? PERHAPS DOING SO IS A WAY OF ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR OWN TININESS AT THE SCALE OF THE UNIVERSE….”
When making this artwork, I was thinking about the way that astrophysicists and other researchers studying neutrinos must travel nearly a mile underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in order to study the stars.
